How It Works
We keep things simple: show up on time, play hard, be good to each other. The rules below exist for one reason: to keep every session fair for the people who committed to it. Read them once, and you'll never think about them again.
SECTION 1
The Basics
Every Saturday, Sunday, and major holiday · 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM sessions · Rossi Park
Competitive doubles. Matches are arranged for you, and courts are grouped by skill level based on who signs up.
Balls are provided.
Time off court is tracked. Players who have played the fewest games get priority for the next match.
Suggested donation: $7.50 per session. It covers court reservations, balls, refreshments, snacks, supplies, and our social events.
Weather check: conditions can change fast. Check Meetup one hour before start time for weather or schedule updates.
SECTION 2
First Time Here?
Welcome! One thing before your first session: message the organizer on Meetup by 6:00 PM the night before to confirm you're coming. It's how we make sure every court is full. If we don't hear from you by then, your spot goes to the next person on the waitlist.
Not sure of your level? Check the NTRP Ratingspage and self-assess before you come. All levels from skilled beginner and up are welcome.
SECTION 3
RSVP & Waitlists
The one deadline to remember: 6:00 PM the day before.
That's the cutoff for any RSVP change. It gives everyone on the waitlist a real chance to plan and take your spot.
Pick one session per day. RSVP for 7:30 AM or 10:00 AM, not both. If you RSVP for both, you'll be removed from both, so choose carefully.
Plans changed? Update your RSVP. If you said yes and can no longer make it, switch to no before 6 PM the day before.
On the waitlist? Stay ready. The waitlist moves up automatically, sometimes on short notice, so check back. Being on the waitlist means you can attend if called up. If you can't, remove yourself by the same 6 PM deadline.
What counts as a no-show:
You're on the Going list and don't attend
You cancel after 6 PM the day before
You arrive more than 15 minutes late
Three no-shows within 3 months will pause your RSVP privileges for 1 month. We'd rather never apply this rule. Your RSVP is a commitment to the other players, and their session is only as good as everyone's word.
SECTION 4
On the Court
Arrive ready to play. Stretching, sunscreen, and snacks happen before the start time, so come a few minutes early.
Never cross behind a court while the ball is in play. Wait for the point to end.
Stray ball rolls onto your court? Roll it back to that court's fence when convenient. Don't stop your own point to do it.
Your ball leaves the courts? Call "Ball out!" and someone off-court will grab it. Keep playing.
Keep bench chatter low. Socializing is the point of this club, but the players next to you are mid-rally.
Stay clear behind courts 1 and 2 during play. The bench area is the place to hang.
Leave the courts better than you found them. These are beautiful public courts. Let's keep them that way.
SECTION 5
Respect
Be respectful to members and the organizer at all times. People who can't extend that respect to players, to the organizer, or to these rules, will be removed from the group. And be kind to the folks on the waitlist. It could be you next week.
